On Friday, October 25, 2024, the Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC) hosted a powerful graduation event in Fresno, celebrating the inspiring journeys of 41 graduates from our eighth cohort of Inmigrantes Emprendedores. Entrepreneurs from across the San Joaquin Valley gathered in the City of Fresno, some at the start of their business journeys and others already successfully managing established ventures. This graduating class joins a growing network of nearly 500 entrepreneurs – each dedicated to making an impact in the Central Valley through their businesses, creating jobs, and contributing to a thriving local economy.
The event marked not just a graduation but a celebration of resilience, innovation, and community. “For me, this program was incredibly impactful; they guide you every step of the way, helping you bring your business idea to life. I am beyond grateful. Thank you!” said Carolina Orozco, who graduated from the program. Representatives from Senator Anna Caballero’s Office and the Valley Women’s Entrepreneurship Center joined us to recognize the achievements of these dynamic immigrant entrepreneurs. Additionally, Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula’s Office was able to celebrate these entrepreneurs with a certificate of recognition. Their presence and support underscored the community-wide network that strengthens our mission to empower immigrant entrepreneurs to start, grow, and sustain businesses in the Central Valley.
Each year, this program proves to be a springboard for motivated individuals who turn dreams into realities. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and access to vital resources, our participants gain the tools they need to navigate the entrepreneurial journey successfully. It’s this collective impact that has made the program a cornerstone for inclusive economic development and economic mobility for immigrant entrepreneurs in the Central Valley.
